Note: To be considered for the Hicks Scholarship you must submit a complete Hicks Scholarship Application by December 1st of the year before you plan to enroll. The application must include the applicants signature, a parent/guardian signature (if student is not yet 18), a completed application for the University of North Florida (please include the application fee or waiver), 2 letters of reference (one from a teacher and not from relative), an essay “Why do you want to be a Hicks Scholar?” (200-500 words typed), a copy of your transcript, a copy of your test scores (if applicable), immunization record (if not on transcript).
Following the submission of the Hicks Scholarship Application the student and parent must complete all financial aid paper work (FAFSA) by March 1st (the Hicks Prep Club and Scholarship Program offer assistance with this process).
The University of North Florida will receive you completed application from the Scholarship Program so that they may complete the selection process. The University of North Florida my request additional information to assist in determining who will receive the Hicks Scholarship. The Hicks Scholarship recipients are selected by the University please comply with all of their policies to ensure that you are considered for the scholarship.
